Description
The sword knot began as a simple cord attached to the handle of the sword – especially used by mounted soldiers to prevent the loss of the sword when engaged in battle. It is usually made out of leather or woven gold thread. There are two main types of sword knots: full dress and active service. Full dress knot is more elaborate, made of gold thread/cord while the active service would have used the leather strap. Typically 18″ long to the “basket” like tassel with a slide for adjustment.
